In The Beginning…
Coffee has become part of our culture, part of our everyday lives. Ninety-five million cups are downed each day in the UK; there seems to be a café on every street corner. And with this, coffee drinkers have become more discerning. And demanding.
When Marcel and Toby founded The Fresh Coffee Company in 2013, they knew that business acumen and a love of coffee wasn’t enough. They needed a point of difference, an excellent range of coffee that was distinctive and relatively undiscovered, but that had the potential for mass appeal.
The Italian Connection
So, the pair of them headed to Italy, for many, the true home of coffee. The choice and quality of coffee there was tremendous, overwhelming even. But then they came across Bristot.
Bristot is a company steeped in tradition, but always looking for fresh ideas and innovation. Its home is Belluno, a truly spectacular spot in Northern Italy, nestled at the foot of the Dolomites.
Further digging revealed that Bristot has a special place in the history of coffee making. Its founder, Domenico Bristot, had a hand in developing the first espresso machine. And the company has been creating coffees of timeless quality for nearly a century.
Building A Business
Bristot’s take on coffee has certainly been good for our business. Since launch, we’ve attracted customers of all sizes: from independent coffee shops and cafés, to restaurants, specialist organic supermarkets, cinemas, hotels and high-end workplace dining companies. No matter who they are, everyone gets the care and attention they deserve.
We offer a rich, smooth, full-bodied service, keeping customers’ machines in tip-top condition, training the staff in the finer points of coffee making, giving them a choice of the most exquisite coffee beans and loose-leaf teas available.
Building on our success in London and the home counties, we’ve recently branched out to the South West of England. In September 2017, our colleague Murray moved to Exeter to launch this exciting new chapter for The Fresh Coffee Company.
We’re closely involved with SUNDAY-Collab, a beach/surf/art lifestyle brand with strong eco credentials, which is starting to make waves in Devon and Cornwall. Our reputation for great coffee and great service is growing week by week, helping our network to expand.
There’s nothing like constructive feedback. It keeps us on our toes and reminds us that we need to aim high and work hard for success.

Meet the team...
We’re a tight-knit unit, brought together by our devotion to coffee. We’re not big on job titles, but everyone brings their particular skills to the party.
Marcel Ottoy is our technical guru. He knows his beans and how to get the best out of them.
Toby Richardson mainly looks after the sales and marketing side of things.
Murray James heads up our operations in the South-West of England.
Nathan Farmer takes care of FCC operations and engineering across the UK.
Jon Townsend is in charge of our quality control, training and development.
Connor Woods gets our coffee to customers promptly and in perfect condition.
Natalie Richardson holds the FCC fort, overseeing everything office and financial.
